For follow up…who doesn’t like sharks. Sharks have a large presence on a wide variety of blogs. So why not have a presence on the Anvil blog. From one of my other favorite blogs Cake Wrecks, I bring you this delightful wreckage of shark-themed cupcakes. Just to lighten up that fear of sharks…now we are able to eat you, HA! And those gross looking dismembered limbs…

Office-wide Irrational Fear or Legitimate Blog Category?

We laugh at ourselves a lot here at Anvil. Mostly because we genuinely think that we are fantastically funny and can’t help ourselves. Case in point: we recently made our blog Categories visibile. Upon reading them, one in particular gave me uncontrollable giggles, mostly because of it’s seeming lack of context among all of the others:

Ahhhh! Sharks!!!

Ahhhh! Sharks!!!

Then the following thoughts came to mind, in order:

“I’m definitely blogging this observation. Hmmmm…I wonder what categories I should use for the post…”

“We could totally build, like, ALL SORTS of content around the Shark theme.”

“I wonder if there is a higher propensity for shark-phobia in internet professionals?”

“I can’t believe I’ve put so much thought into this…”

“I’m glad nobody knows how much thought I’ve put into this.”

Oh wait.

Sharks: Paranoia or a Legitimate Fear?

In a mere 2 and 1/2 weeks I’ll be traveling to Hawaii in celebration of my upcoming wedding.  While there, I plan on exploring the beautiful ocean and participating in various activities such as surfing and snorkeling.  However, I’ve recently been hearing more and more about the dangers of sharks in these waters.  Ridiculous, right?  No.  After extensive research on the subject, I’ve found these warnings to be potentially lifesaving.  For more insight, just watch the horrors that can occur when sharks attack.
