Anvil Snow Day

Friday the Anvil team had the opportunity to take off for the day and meet up with our Dream Life friends to play in the snow at Clear Lake on Mt. Hood. The day was beautiful and warm, couldn’t have asked for better weather. The ladies snowshoed/hiked in the morning while the guys snowmobiled and played football on the frozen lake. In the afternoon Kim and Heather took a spin on the snowmobiles as well.

We all enjoyed the break from the office and the chance to get some sunshine and playtime in!

Team Thunder Force

Another week of Ad League bowling has come and gone, and this week Anvil came out on top! Mostly due to our handicaps kicking in, but I’m sure the tequila shots also had an impact on our game…of some sort.

I don’t think the team we played against was really happy that they lost to us, as they seemed to be taking the sport of bowling much more seriously than team thunder force, and they actually bowled better and still lost.

Anvil! The Anvil Story

Looks like an interesting documentary, though it appears they really went the mockumentary route ala Spinal Tap. Seriously, who plays a guitar with a dildo?

Anvil is a Canadian heavy metal band that formed in ’73. The band consists of Steve “Lips” Kudlow, Robb Reiner (not that one), Dave Allison & Ian Dickinson.

The documentary comes out this spring, and follows them on a European tour after 20 years of, ah, um, not touring. The costumes (I’ve got to call them costumes because who wears that?) are dead on imitations of Spinal Tap garb. It’s supposed to be pretty good, but not “11″ good.

The trailer made me laugh, however.

Past Anvil Field Trips

The Anvil Media team has another quarterly field trip fast approaching. Since this blog is a newer project, we’ll look back on one of our last field trips with the help of the Dream Life gang. Once upon a time when it was warm and sunny, the team got the chance to ride jet skis and show off our moves (or how well we sink) on a wakeboard.
