COLABORATORY 2009 Wrap Up

Portland Ad Fed’s Internship, COLABORATORY, came to an end for the summer this past Friday.  The day was bitter sweet for all involved because both teams, WetPaint and Silo5 presented awesome pitches to Columbia Sportswear which meant the 2009 internship came to a close.

I wanted to personally thank the interns Anvil hosted: Brittany Calvert, Jason Pearson and Katie Reardon!  I know I can speak for the Anvil Team when I say, you all rock!  It was so nice getting to know you each one of you and we truly enjoyed having you at Anvil for your short stay.  Thanks for all the hard work you did for Anvil and for COLABORATORY.

Best of luck to the now 2009 COLABORATORY alumni, keep in touch and keep kicking ass!

Super Awesome Amazing Ad/Mktg Internship

As some of you might know, the only reason I even know about Anvil is because of a little internship called COLABORATORY.

What is COLABORATORY you ask? It is an internship for Ad and Marketing students in their Junior or Senior year of college.  There are two sides of this internship.

  1. Interns get to spend 2 weeks at 3 different ad/mktg agencies in the Portland area.  Here they will learn the ins and outs of agency life, get to meet people in the industry and work on projects for the respective agency.
  2. Interns will form 2 teams, “mini agencies” if you will, to create a marketing plan for the Sportswear Giant, Columbia Sportswear.

How incredible does this sound!  AMAZING OPPORTUNITY, that’s why I applied – and look where I am today.  I have an awesome job just after graduating from the U of O in this economy…  COLAB was an amazing experience, if you have any questions about the program or if you want to know more about my personal experience leave a comment and I will be sure to help you out.
